Yesterday was the first day of the Embracing Life! Retreat held about 45 minutes from the Gold Coast at a place called Uki in Northern NSW near Mt. Warning.
20 guests, 4 full time staff, myself and William met at the Universal Peace Centre for a week of detoxing, education, fun and relaxation at the most amazing retreat nestled in the rainforest.
The best thing about being out there in Uki, is the peace. I can’t say the quiet because the wildlife noises are pretty loud – but the peace of being in nature this way is so deeply restful that I think it really helped us to settle in very quickly and feel like we’d shed our day to day lives and persona’s with it.
Sometimes on holiday it takes a while to let go of all the stress and busyness, but at UPC we have found that the isolation, the secluded venue, the lack of phones, computers, newspapers and television, meant that we dropped into a very nice space almost immediately – and everyone can feel that.
It started raining today and that also brings with it a very cosy feel. All tucked in and nurtured at our retreat, making connections, examining our lives – it is pretty special and I can tell it is going to be a great week.
