Well, here we are in WA running an Embracing Life! Retreat on the opposite side of the country – to clarify for all of my international readers – I live in QLD on the eastern edge of Australia and Perth is on the western edge and is a five and a half hour flight away.
We (Trudy, William and I) arrived into Perth on Saturday at lunch time and hired a car so that we could have a drive around the city before heading up north to Club Capricorn Resort at Yanchep. Perth is a lovely city – and it reminded us of what the Gold Coast might have been like 20 years ago. I had a street directory and was head navigator – and I thought it was really funny where there were big black “highway” lines on the map and as we drove on them they would be a little one lane back street and nothing like a highway in the QLD / NSW sense of the word!!
We had lunch at Fremantle on the water and enjoyed looking around the quaint streets and buildings in that lovely town; before driving north west an hour to the beach town of Yanchep and Two Rocks. All I will say about the resort is that it certainly had “character”, and it was in a beautiful naturally rugged spot a short walk from the beach through the sand dunes.
The first night we stayed in one of the chalets on the beach front listening to the waves pounding on the beach and watched the most gorgeous of sunsets. We are so used to watching the sun come up over the water on this side of the country, that to see the spectacular WA sunsets was a real treat! To see some of our beautiful sunset photo’s go to www.embracinghealth.com.au/retreat-pics for a look.
The next day was the start of the retreat and we moved into the main lodge building and set up for the week. Kate and Maggie our two kitchen girls arrived and we started putting it all together for the week.
It was a really great group of people that arrived and it was a lot of fun to be able to meet many people whom I had spoken to on the phone, but never met in person. I’m sure we’re going to have a sensational time and I’ll keep writing during the week.

At this time it sounds like BlogEngine is the best blogging platform
available right now. (from what I’ve read) Is that what you are using on your blog?
